NOTE: BoseŽ Corp has distributed a document the information
of which they use to dissuade customers from purchasing QuietComfort-2TM or QuietComfort-15TM
headphones for use with our product. The document is titled Customer Response to Questions on UFlyMike. BoseŽ claims
the following:
~ No incoming audio will be heard with a discharged or improperly installed battery. This could result in the potential
of missed communications while piloting an aircraft.
~ The UFlyMike product enables an external source to provide music playback... without muting or control of received aircraft
radio or cockpit communications. This design may allow music to mask critical cockpit communications.
~ QC2TM headphones are not engineered for the wide range of noise levels, altitude, temperature,
EMI, and other environmental conditions aircraft pilots commonly experience, and which could interfere with critical cockpit
communications.
10,000+ UFlyMike customers would disagree with those statements:
~ There are NO documented reports of battery power being an issue for pilots. It is a common task for pilots to properly
operate equipment and monitor fuel, oil, oxygen and other finite resources.
~ There are NO documented reports of media inputs being an issue for pilots. Pilots are commonly tasked to monitor more
than one audio input simultaneously, e.g., primary ATC control while monitoring the approach navaid ID; others monitor two
to as many as five separate radios in civilian and military aircraft. Volume controls for the aircraft radios and any media
input device are independently controlled when using the UFlyMike.
~ The QC-2TM and The QC-15TM headphones have BOTH passed laboratory TESTING
for noise levels, altitude, rapid decompression, temperature, humidity, EMI, RMI and other environmental conditions. They
are both TSO certified as components of the UFlyMike Aviation Headset.
